Slacker......

"Slacker....." This is what I hear calling from the back of my mind when I think about this blog. I promise to back strong as ever starting next week. This coming weekend I have my clinical test in Atlanta to finish my nursing degree, so my mind is consumed with that.

Oh well that and this:

Well and of course this little princess:

For the record, she did that to herself!! Well off to put the 2-legged and 4-legged babies down for naps. This mama's got to study!

Hello again, hello........

Life has been crazy.

I've also been...........sick...............pregnant..............lazy.

I promise to be back soon.  I miss blogging and getting all my thoughts out there.  I really is therapeutic for me.

I've really just been feeling less than inspired lately.  I can't seem to find the energy to do much of anything.  I know.....this life sounds exciting doesn't it.

Well, this is going to be short and sweet, but I will leave you with a picture of my adorable ladybug enjoying the sneak peek of springtime we got a few weeks ago.

Slacker.....

I know I've been missing in action all week.  I'd like to blame it on something like I've been swamped doing something fabulous, but in reality I have no real good excuse.  I have been a little busy this week starting to study for a GINORMOUS test I have coming up in April and just doing regular ole mommy stuff but that's about it.

We do have several projects waiting in limbo out here at the farm.  I need the energy fairy to visit me so I can get them all done.  Here is a picture of the farmhouse table completely put together.

I think the lil' princess approves so far.  We actually have also gotten all the holes filled, stained on top and painted with primer on the bottom.  Just have get a couple of coats of paint on the bottom and I'll share an official post about the finished project.

Well mommy duties call....I can smell the stinky princess from across the room.  Hope everyone is having a great week.  I promise to do better!

I have an announcement.....

I've been struggling all week whether or not to share this EXCITING news, but today I decided to go for it.  Some may think I'm crazy to do it all ready, but I'm too happy to keep it in.  I'm feeling a little mischivious today, so I'm gonna make you scroll around my page to figure out exactly what I'm talking about!!  Have fun searching. :)

21 things…..

Ohhh go check out this post over at The Story of Us.  I’ve been a little stumped and having a difficult time coming up with something to post about today.  I’ve got so many projects going on around the farm right now that I can’t wait to share on here but nothing is quite ready yet.

Hopefully I can actually get through this without retyping it over and over.  The little princess has a new game…….every time I open the laptop she makes a bee line over to wherever I am to close it.  Sounds like fun doesn’t it?  Try it about 100 times then tell me how you really feel.

 1. I proclaimed for years to friends and coworkers that I was never going to get married and if I did I didn’t think I ever wanted kids.  Look at me now.  Couldn’t imagine my life without my farmer or lil’ princess.

2. I met my hubby online.  Most people are shocked by that.  Well actually we “met” in a bar, but found each other online.  I knew he was the one after only about 3 dates.

3.  Have you ever had a really, really bad day and at the end of it realized you were wearing your panties inside out?  I have.

4.  I found the little princess’ name by Googling “names that go with the middle name Ruth.”

5.  I cannot stand scarey movies.  Like "can’t-stand-with-every-hair-on-my-head" kind of can't stand them.  I’m a real life chicken.

6.  I’m completely OCD about cleaning, but only if I’m in the mood.  Watch out though if I start cleaning and you come behind me and mess it up, you are liable to get the wrath.

7.  I once worked in a fast food restaurant.  For 3 days.

8.  I’m famous in my family for many things.  One of these was for getting stuck backwards in a kitchen table chair.  I had to be sawed out.  Yes, I had chubby legs as a child.  Quit laughing now.

9.  I secretly will leave the paper towel holder empty to see how long it takes for the hubby to put a new roll on.  I’ve lasted 4 days one time.

10.  I carried a blankie around until I was almost in the 4th grade.  My parents made me give it to our dog as a pull toy.  I’m still bitter about the dog eating my blankie.

11..  With my job, I’ve seen more penises than I’d care to ever admit.  I’m a nurse people, a nurse.  I know what you were thinking.

12.  I’ve been arrested once in my life when I was 18.  I was stealing political signs.  Sadly I wasn’t political at the time, just being stupid.  Really, really stupid.  And no I didn’t have to do any time in the slammer.

13.  I have a real fear of trampolines.  I hurt myself on one as a kid and never really liked them that much anyway.  I secretly hope my children never want one.

14.  As a kid I was terrified when we had to cross over a bridge in the car.  When we use to have to cross the Memphis bridge, it would make me cry.  I have in fact gotten over this.

15.  Speaking of bridges, one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever been through in my life involved The Mile High Swinging Bridge at Grandfather Mountain.  This involved my older sister.  Enough said.

16.  I cannot do a cartwheel.  I’ve tried but with no success.  It’s quite entertaining to see me try.

17.  I once stuck a bead up my nose and it got stuck.  Yep, brilliant I know.  Sorry mom for that doctor bill.

18.  I’m a complete baby whenever I have to get a shot.  I can give them all day long, but don’t you dare come at me with a needle.

19.  I love microwave popcorn more than I should.  I really, really love it mixed with a handful or two of M&M's......now my mouth is watering......

20.  I love the Harry Potter series.  I don’t care that I’m 31.  I’m not skeerd to admit that I’ve read all the books no less than 4 times each and have been thinking about doing it again soon.

21.  I’ll never forget the way I felt the first time I laid my eyes on the lil’ princess.  Makes me wonder why I ever felt the way I did in #1.

Happy New Year!!!!

Okay, I know I’m a little late.  Like 3 days late.  I have the same excuse I often have….I had to work.  Yep, exciting I know but that’s the life of a nurse.  I love the beginning of a new year.  Last year was so amazing, I can’t wait to see what this year has in store.

I thought I’d reflect in this post a bit, so if I start rambling…forgive me.  I’ve read several other blogs in the last few days and I’m loving all the people sharing a bit of their loves from the past year.  In the last year and a half my life has changed so drastically.  I encountered and conquered many milestones in such a short amount of time.  I’m so thankful for all that I’ve experienced and learned.

When we first found our new home, I was a little worried to be moving and rearranging our lives while the little princess was so young.  Now that I think back, I’m soooo happy we were given the opportunity to purchase this place and make it our home.  We have been super busy doing things around the farm and we have so many more things to accomplish, but I love my home!!

This little one right here has been the center of my universe since the first time I laid eyes on her.  Watching her grow and become the little person she is becoming has been the best part of my year.  I love her more than I ever thought I could love someone.  Being a mommy is the best.

When I think back at 2010, I think the number one thing that has meant the most to me has been my family.  I’ll never be able to express in words how lucky I am to have the best husband in the whole world.  He is my best friend and favorite person to spend time with.  He supports me and loves me no matter what and I’m the most thankful for that.
I probably could continue to post about 10 more things, but I’ll leave it at that for right now.  I hope everyone had a happy holiday season and has an amazing new year.

Baby making is hard.....

Seeing how the first little princess was made without any of Roy or I's knowledge or even the slightest attempt at trying, I never realized how hard this baby-making thing can be.

For another month, I'm not pregnant. I've always hated my period much like any girl, but until you are trying to conceive you don't realize that the "hateness" can be taken to a whole new level.

We've only been trying for 4 months now, but I can't help being a little sad each month when it doesn't happen. I need to learn to be patient and let things happen, but for me that is the hardest part of this all. Thank goodness for Roy. He is my rock, my voice of reason.

So, for today I'm gonna be sad. Tomorrow will be a new day, and soon we will begin a new month of trying.

Miss Madelyn Ruth

Well it's been awhile since I've been on here. Roy and I are now married and expecting our little girl to get here in about 9 more weeks. I can't believe how much our life has changed in such a short amount of time. I still can't believe I'm going to be a mama. I'm excited but scared to death. How will I know how to handle everything? I just keep telling myself to take it one day at a time, and hope that motherly instinct everyone talks about really does kick in.

I'm feeling great except for the tiredness that has crept back in and the raging varicose veins that have shown up in my legs. I've almost reached my weight gain goal already, so I'll probably be creeping over that amount. I'm gonna try to behave the last few weeks and then the lactation diet kicks in!! :)

Well, I killed the iron this morning so I'm gonna go shower and head to Wal-mart to pick up a new one. Promise to update with pictures and more info later!!!

Lori McKenna

I forgot how much I love Lori McKenna. I first heard her on Oprah a few years ago. She is an amazing women that has achieve so much all while being a mommy to 5. I just love the lyrics of this song. They bring tears to my eyes, but it reminds me how strong you can be for yourself!! Hope you enjoy!!
